Submission of papers

To meet Intellectual Property requirements, each author, and each co-author shall fill a Licensing Term (only available in Portuguese) according to the available form (clic here). The printed and signed Licensing Terms, are to be mailed to:

The inclusion of a paper in the SLAC proceedings only will be possible if:

  1. the author, or at least one of the co-authors, is already registered for the event;

  2. the printed and signed original Licensing Terms of the author, and of each of the co-authors (copies cannot be accepted) posted up to 21th July, 2014, has been received by the organisers;

  3. the paper is in accordance to the Instructions for Authors (bellow). Submitted papers are of exclusive author responsability as Organising Committee will not proceed grammar and spelling corrections.

  4. the number of submissions does not exceed the limit of three papers by each registered participant.

Papers should be sent to the e-mail cnpt.slac@embrapa.br until 21th July 2014, and, Licensing Terms need to be sent by mail. To meet these distinct deadlines it is suggested that the author, soon after defining the paper’s title and co-authors already send by mail all the properly signed original Licensing Terms (while the manuscript is completed and revised).

Instructions to authors

Paper formatting guide:

text: extension .rtf

graphs: extension .xls

figures: extension .jpg

photos: minimal resolution 300 dpi

Please identify each file with the surname of the first author, followed by increasing numerals. Example.: Silva1.rtf; Silva2.rtf

Paper lenght: minimum of 3 and maximum of 5 pages, including text, tables, graphs, figures e photos.

Structure:

Title of the paper, author(s), address of author(s), abstract, keywords, introduction, material and methods, results and discussion, conclusions, literature references.

Page formatting:

- paper size: A4 (21.0 cm x 29.7 cm).

- margins:

superior: 2.5 cm

inferior:2.5 cm

left: 2.5 cm

right: 2.0 cm

Letter size:

Font: Arial.

Title: capitals size 14-point (central).

Authors: Initials in capital letter, size 11-point (central).

Author(s) addresses: 9-point (central).

Text: size 11-point (justified).

Subtitles (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion e Literature References): size 11-point, capital letters, central.

Line spacing: simple.

Spacing between paragraphs: two spaces.

Tables: size 11-point (according to the amount of information).

Literature references: size 11-point (left aligned), listed according to ABNT (“Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas”).

The selected works to be presented in the form of posters, should follow the following instructions:

  • Poster made of canvas with finishing to hang
  • Format (width x height): 0.90 x 1.20 m
  • Title: arial (bold) size 85
  • Author(s): arial (bold) size 45
  • Subtitle: arial (bold) size 60
  • Text: Arial size 24 (at least)
